Uchinada is a small beach town located in the center of Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. It is only 10 kilometers away from the center of Kanazwwa Ishikawa City---the capital of Ishikawa Prefecture. As a town of south-north direction, it is 9 kilometers from south to north and 2.9 kilometers from west to east. With an average annual precipitation of 1,800 mm, its average winter temperature is 5.7 centigrade and summer temperature is 24.3 centigrade. With highest point of elevation of 58.51 meters, the whole town is basically composed of sand dunes. The town is surrounded by the Sea of Japan, some lakes and rivers.
Uchinada is situated in Noto Island of Japan. There’re railways from Uchinada to Kanazwwa Ishikawa. It takes about 3.5 to 4.5 hours drive from the Airport of Oska or the Airport of Nagoya to Uchinada. There’re 2 hours drive form Oska or Nagoya to Uchinada by Airport Express Train. There’re 50 minutes flight from Tokyo to Komatsu Airport of Ishikawa Prefecture.
Uchinada’s industries are very developed. In terms of agriculture, almost all farmers in Uchinada produce and promote goods by themselves. Uchinada is rich in producing vegetables and its output of milk accounts for 30% of Ishikawa. Textile and garment industry of small and medium size is the major industry in Uchinada, accounting for 72% of all factories of the town. In addition, Uchinada which boasts 9.1 kilometers coastline, has advanced fishery industry.
Uchinada is also a scenic spot. There’re famous beaches within it. Uchinada is internationally known for its World Kite Festival which is held annually. Uchinada Bridge has become a new tourist attraction. There’re also tourist sights including Kahoku Lagoon and Uchinada Wind Power Station.
