Wujiang Library


Wujiang Library, founded in 1917, is located at No. 1979 South Zhongshan Road, Wujiang District. The library is divided into several sections, including a children’s reading room, a natural science books reading room, a periodicals reading room, a  library hall, an electronic reading room, an ancient books reading room, a children’s picture books reading room, a reading room for visually impaired people, a lecture hall, an exhibition hall and a training room. It has a collection of more than 2 million books and is listed as a national class-A library. It has won such honorary titles as “National Civilized Library”, “Most Beautiful Grassroots Library”, “National Civilized Women’s Post”, “National Key Protection Unit for Ancient Books”, “National Advanced Unit for Ancient Books Protection”, “National Reading Demonstration Base”, “Jiangsu Provincial Civilized Library”, “Jiangsu Provincial Civilized Unit”, and “National Reading Advanced Unit”. A number of its projects, including the “Reading Together” project concerning the urban-rural integration of reading services for minors and the “New Reading & Cordial Service” activity of bringing library services to rural areas in the E-era, have been approved by the Ministry of Culture.
