Qidu

Qidu Town is home to more than 1,000 enterprises in four major industries covering optical and electric cable, new building materials, non-ferrous metal processing, and textile manufacturing. Among them, there are three main board listed companies, i.e. Jiangsu Hengtong Photoelectric Stock Co., Ltd, Der Future Science & Technology Holding Group Co., Ltd, and Jiangsu Canlon Building Materials Co., Ltd. The town’s production of optical cable accounts for one-fifth of the country’s total.

In 2018, Qidu Town achieved a regional GDP of 11.15 billion yuan and a general public budget revenue of 625 million yuan. Located by the Taihu Lake, the town is endowed with rich natural and cultural resources. In 2017, it was included in the second batch of national characteristic towns by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD).
