Wujiang is known as the capital of optical and electric cables in China. The annual output of electric cables accounts for one-fifth of the national total and those of optical cables, optical fibers and optical wands account for one-third of the national totals. In the optical and electric cable industry, Wujiang has three listed companies, i.e. Jiangsu Hengtong Photoelectric Stock Co., Ltd, Jiangsu Etern Co. Ltd and Tongding Interconnection Information Co., Ltd.
