On November 6, the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee selected 104 model units that have applied the “Fengqiao model” nationwide. And the Political and Legal Affairs Committee of the CPC Wujiang District Committee, which is known for its one-stop hierarchical resolution mechanism for disputes, made the list. On November 9, Huang Aijun, deputy secretary of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee, paid a visit to Wujiang District to conduct an investigation on the implementation of the one-stop hierarchical approach to resolve disputes. He encouraged Wujiang District to explore new ways for community-level governance and form a batch of practices that can be replicated and promoted. Li Ming, secretary of the CPC Wujiang District Committee, accompanied Huang on his visit and Wei Guoling, deputy secretary of the CPC Wujiang District Committee and secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee of the CPC Wujiang District Committee, reported on his visit to Beijing for the award ceremony.
Under the strong leadership of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and the CPC Wujiang District Committee, Wujiang will stick to and develop the “Fengqiao model” for promoting community-level governance in the new era. Continuous efforts will be made to carry out the Party’s mass line, rely on primary-level organizations and the people to prioritize prevention and mediation, make good use of the rule of law and resolve disputes on the spot to create a more secure and stable social environment.
