On November 27, Li Ming, secretary of the CPC Wujiang District Committee, led a team to Wujiang Development Zone to inspect the development of the service industry. He emphasized that the development of modern service industry should be placed in a more prominent position and called for efforts to learn advanced experiences and build a modern service industrial system to realize high-quality and efficient development, so as to provide strong support for the cultivation and development of new quality productive forces.
The team inspected the construction sites of two commercial projects in Wujiang Development Zone. Noting that community-based commerce is of great importance in meeting broader consumption needs of residents, Li Ming stressed the need to refine the layout of commerce facilities according to the consumption habits and needs of people in different regions and build a well-structured commercial layout.
At the subsequent symposium, the representative of Wujiang Development Zone reported the development of the local service industry. Li Ming said that the modern service industry is a new engine for regional economic development and is of great significance in enhancing comprehensive competitiveness of cities. He highlighted the importance of making targeted policies to deepen the integration of advanced manufacturing and modern service industries, strengthen weak links in the industrial system and create new forms and models of business.
