On March 4, Sun Jianjiang, deputy secretary of the CPC Wujiang District Committee and district chief, led a team to inspect Shengze Town. He stressed the need to resolutely implement the work requirements put forward by leaders of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee during their inspection tours in Shengze and urged for stepped-up efforts to boost the coordinated development of industries, city and people and explore replicable practices in urban construction and management of large towns.
Since February 10, Shengze Town has rolled out 66 targeted measures in 14 areas to achieve the goal of building itself into a modern town full of culture and history with the integration of industry, city and people. All localities and departments, coordinating all the activities like moves in a chess game, have made concerted efforts to advance the work as planned.
At the symposium, Sun Jianjiang heard the work report of Shengze Town and urged it to maintain a firm political stance and study how to deepen reform and promote urban construction, industrial development, scientific and technological innovation, and social governance as a super-large town. Shengze should set short-term tasks and make long-term plans that are suited to its conditions to achieve its development goals.
Before the symposium, Sun Jianjiang visited Hengli Group and Shenghong Group to learn more about their surrounding environment. He also inspected the construction of the Oriental Textile City.
