On August 26, Wujiang District held a meeting on promoting the rectification of unhealthy tendencies and corruption at the people’s doorsteps. The meeting highlighted the importance of thoroughly studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building and the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions and directives, stressed the need to fully implement the decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee as well as the work arrangements of the provincial and municipal Party committees, and urged solid and targeted efforts to continue rooting out misconduct and corruption affecting the public. Sun Daoxun, secretary of the CPC Wujiang District Committee, attended and addressed the meeting, which was chaired by Cao Ye, deputy secretary of the CPC Wujiang District Committee and district chief. Dai Dan, deputy secretary of the CPC Wujiang District Committee, also attended the meeting.
The meeting pointed out that the rectification of unhealthy tendencies and corruption at the grassroots level among the people is a major political task personally deployed by General Secretary Xi Jinping and vigorously advanced by the Party Central Committee, to which the Provincial and Municipal Party Committees attach great importance. All localities and departments should build a broad consensus and resolutely shoulder the political responsibility for the concentrated rectification of misconduct and corruption at the people’s doorsteps. They must strengthen their sense of responsibility and urgency, and take the concentrated rectification as a concrete action to stay true to the Party’s original aspiration and founding mission of serving the people wholeheartedly. With a resolute determination, persistent tenacity, and a fearless attitude, they must accomplish all rectification tasks with high quality and ensure tangible results are achieved.
The meeting stressed the need to address both symptoms and root causes and to establish sound and long-term mechanisms. In‑depth investigation and rectification of deep‑seated problems shall be carried out. It is imperative to turn the blade inward in self-supervision, uphold the problem-oriented, process-oriented and result-oriented approaches, conduct rectification work from the surface down to the root causes, make every effort to shore up weak links, and enhance the standardization, effectiveness, coordination and systematic nature of the rectification work.
